Market Potential Analysis 車載診斷系統(On-Board Diagnostics, OBD)是一種裝置於車中用以監控車輛污染的系統,可於車輛的排放控制元件出現問題時,早期產生訊號以通知駕駛人送廠維修,以避免問題車輛在不知情的情況下製造更多的污染。該系統可用來隨時監控引擎運轉狀況,一旦有廢氣排放控制元件動作異常時,OBD會馬上發出警示,並在汽車儀表板上亮起故障警告燈(Malfunction Indicator Lamp, MIL)或檢查引擎(Check Engine)警告燈,提醒駕駛人立即修復,讓車上廢氣排放控制元件儘早恢復正常運作,避免發生故障的車輛持續行駛較長時間,造成較高的油耗與污染排放。 此外,引擎電子控制單元(Electronic Control Unit, ECU)會將故障資訊存入記憶體, OBD檢測軟體便可將故障碼從記憶體中讀出,根據故障碼的提示,維修人員能迅速準確地確定故障的性質和部位,讓汽車維修的時間大幅縮短。因此,有配備OBD系統的汽車,一方面能讓駕駛人掌握車況,並維持引擎運轉之最佳狀態,同時也能節省燃油消耗,且有效防止故障車輛的高污染排放。
